Yet another reason it's a good idea to move on from Twitter (and Facebook) to a decentralized option like Mastodon.

"Twitter took phone numbers users gave for account security and used them to target ads"

Dharkon and Galeem's traits are cool and all but
the fact that you also take extra damage and the inability to equip sub spirit's makes them useless for anything other then making world of light harder

I asked my 4 year old how to play Smash Bros. He says I need to push all the buttons to make my guys do their special moves.

He's not wrong 😂

I'm not necessarily trying to say that the BSDs are better. I absolutely enjoy them more, but they're all monoolithic kernels with roughly similar capabilities. Just pick the one that best solves whatever issue(s) you're having.

I don't think this general OS architecture will last, and the abuse of things like docker only makes it seem like that death is coming faster than we're probably ready for.

Kinda feels like replacing C, several nice looking options, debatable if any are actually ready

It was pretty cool watching Chris, Alex, and Wendell discussing the new JB show "Self Hosted" on the L1Linux youtube channel, but as with most Linux-focused content it's kinda sad to hear statements like "only Linux is so well designed" while I'm sitting here thinking about glibc, epoll, systemd happily DOSing you, etc.

Tech Support: A Limerick

You have a few problems computing,
And call them for help troubleshooting.
"I'm sorry" they say,
As you start to pray,
"But have you attempted rebooting?"

Children, by nature, are keen, passionate and curious. What was referred to as laziness is often merely an awakening of sensitivity, a psychological inability to submit to certain absurd duties, and a natural result of the distorted, unbalanced education given to them. This laziness, which leads to an insuperable reluctance to learn, is, contrary to appearances, sometimes proof of intellectual superiority and a condemnation of the teacher.

It's backup time! Have you done your regular round of backing up?

Remember the backup rule of three-two-one:

Three copies of anything you want to keep (minimum)!

Two different formats (minimum)!

One copy kept off-site (minimum)!

I need to rehome my beloved dogs. Both are ~9.5 years old; Rosie is a terrier, and Artie is a German shepherd mix. Both are sweethearts and get along with people and other dogs and cats. Both are crate trained and both have been around children.

I've had them since they were puppies, and I love them with all my heart, but my life is about to shift radically and I don't think I can care for them any longer.

I'd rather they go to someone in the mid-Atlantic who will send lots of pictures. <3

I have to give a presentation at my school tomorrow about a technical topic that interests me. I've chosen Mastodon, and I'm planning to show this toot to everybody at the end. Share some Mastodon love below!
