As cool as the new M1 chips are, I don't see how that benefits Linux users.

what if the m1 chip was licensed in such a way as to mandate any derivatives or clones push modifications back into the m1 spec and have that license be hereditary? these cpu are another proprietary madness in a time where natural resources are scarce and the wealthy are planning to draft the poor for space travel and planetary colonization.

@s31bz i hope Apple locks it down further and makes it impossible to run anything else. Those that want to support linux, foss, right to repair, should vote with their wallet and support companies that actually care about those things.
