Gnome Disks crashed (segfault) while extending a NTFS partition. Rant

Some things HAVE TO be written in a safe language. Why? BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO LOSE MY DATA.

Apparently gnome-disks segfaulted *after* resizing the partition, so everything seems fine. But that scared me way too much.

And i know i should have a backup. And i'm going to buy a new hdd in the next days possibly. But that's not an excuse to make your software crash

@ranfdev (memory)-safe languages *absolutely* doesn't mean no data loss, very careful programming and architecture means avoiding data-loss.

@lanodan I know, but without the need to manage memory, at least you can focus more on what's important: not losing data. I actually prefer having a slower (maybe because of GC) program, but more reliable.
