anyone have any thoughts I am using dracut to build a init on ubuntu but when I update it overrides it. Any idea's on how to keep the config after a update?
I am running dracut -f --kernel-cmdline "ip=10.22.12.103::10.22.12.1:255.255.255.0:client4:eno1:off rd.shell"

Is there another way to keep the info after ubuntu re-creates initrd?

@omnipotens I don't know Ubuntu, but it looks like you're attempting to add values to the kernel command line. Why not add it to your /etc/default/grub file for grub to append it?

@ozoned because i am trying to install clevis and the default init break's luks and vlevis

@omnipotens wrap your install binary in a shell script to check for new kernels and if you get a new kernel run your dracut line. Then can the Shell script for updates instead?

@dar13 @omnipotens seems like far has it:

kernel_cmdline="parameters" Specify default kernel command line parameters

Can be set directly in the dracut conf.

@ozoned @dar13 it don't seem to work in ubuntu. I think because ubuntu uses initrd rather than initfs.

FYI this is what I am setting up.
