Ok, I think I grok #i3wm enough to make it my daily driver for awhile. I call that a win. 
@matt be careful. it's addictive. You will get hooked and all those fancy new DEs will not be able to make you happy anymore. .oO( ! )
Having said that, I watched a few Youtube videos on it, and now I think I can grok it with some practice.
