Germany has banned its from using cloud-based productivity suites from Microsoft, Google, and Apple, because the companies weren't meeting the country's requirements.

Good on Germany! Government-provided schools should not require their students to use systems that won’t meet their requirements, especially for something so vital as privacy.

I can't move to Germany, but surely I will choose services hosted in Germany 🤔

@linuxjournal afaik only Hessen (a state of Germany) has banned it. Or did I miss something?


BTW is there a good analysis somewhere of how it will or won't create a precedent (and where)?
