Privacy Browser for Android has replaced DuckDuckGo.com with Searx.me as their default search engine for new installs in version 2.12.
There's several reasons for the switch, but the most noteworthy one is that DuckDuckGo.com uses trackers on their website. — https://www.stoutner.com/new-default-homepage-and-search-engine
@hund DDG is US based so I never have trusted them much. Just slightly more than google. Been using searx for the past year now
I am currently still using duckduckgo, but trackers just really suck
Wait... What? Trackers on DDG?
@Antanicus I'm sawy. :(
I mean, I am running Blokada on my phone and uBlock on my Linux box, which should both prevent them from tracking me, but hell... This is mighty disappointing...
@Antanicus µBlock Origin on Firefox catches them for me. :) But I have actually already switched over to Searx long before this.
