Today I woke up to the nice surprise of my PC not turning on. Not even the fans or lights, it was dead.
After tearing it all apart, swapping components with my brother's PC and calling all of my local computer stores for a new motherboard (none of which had any decent ones), I found a post on a random ass forum suggesting removing the motherboard battery, WAITING 15 SECONDS, then putting it back.
@linmob I saw you're trying to change your static site generator, can I tempt you with hugo and a pretty cool theme I made?
@tbernard What do you think?
I'm back on track! I released #WhatIP 1.0 powered by #gtk4 and #libadwaita and so far everything looks good! Check it out if you want, you can find it on #flathub here: https://flathub.org/apps/details/org.gabmus.whatip
In other news, the new version of #HydraPaper again with gtk4 and libadwaita, as well as slideshow mode and monitor configuration change detection, is coming soon!
Update on routing my house: the first cat7 run through the wall is done!
It wasn't easy because the wall channel has some weird curves apparently, and cat7 is a big chungus, but after three failed attempts and some lubricant we managed to route it all the way.
Speed seems right, we all have 1Gbps NICs and the reported speed is the same as with a direct link to the router. (BTW check out iperf3)
Overall I'm happy to say that this was a huge success!
I made a #RaspberryPiPico pinout diagram for your terminal, you may want to check it out: https://gabmus.org/posts/raspberry_pi_pico_pinout_in_your_terminal/
Hey people, make sure to join today's Tech Pills Livestream, starting same time as usual
In the last year Google has banned: the Element app, the LBRY app, and several Fediverse apps. If you get all of your apps from a single corporation, be it Google or Apple, you should make an effort to change that.
If you have an Android phone F-Droid is an alternative app repository, and it’s very easy to install! All of the previously mentioned apps have been available from F-Droid throughout being dropped from the Play Store.
If you have an iPhone, please consider other options for your next device. Apple does not respect you enough as a user to consider you possibly more capable of deciding what you should install on your phone than they are. That is absurd; please stop rewarding this behavior with your money.
