@brainblasted I'm studying Vulkan for a university project. So far I'm having fun, not without lots of frustration as it's ouside of my area of expertise. If you wanna make games, I suggested you stick with a game engine like godot, otherwise just go with Vulkan. OpenGL and Vulkan have quite a bit in common, so once you become more advanced you can start cherry-picking from OpenGL tutorials.
