@architect I didn't expect any laptops with Linux installed. However, I would like to see the people on the sales floor to have actually heard of it. When I said "Ubuntu" the saleswoman thought I was saying "Bluetooth".
It's nice to see that you found someone on the sales floor actually interested in computers. You would think everyone working in the computer department would have a passion for it.

@Senlis I believe the only places that sell hardware specifically with Linux in mind is System76 and Dell.
and both have recently had the good mind to remove ME from their Intel chips.
there may be others, but I don't know of them.

You never know, some of the Best Buy floor salespeople I've talked to were actually pretty interested in Linux, but as for buying a PC with Linux or any other FLOSS OS isn't happening anytime soon.
