@HexDSL Hey! I saw that you have some experience with gaming on Linux. Do you know how I could play Outward in multiplayer? The problem I have is, that I have the GOG version and it is necessary to use the GOG Galaxy Client to play multiplayer.

For those that don't know I work at Red Hat. I do support and my primary focus is on systemd.

As there's a massive misunderstanding across the board with , from what it actually is to how do I properly create unit files, I was thinking of trying to do kind of a recommendations and explanations one toot at a time.

So if anyone has questions or would like explanations please let me know.

Understanding systemd #1

Contrary to popular belief is not just an init system. Take everything you know about older init systems and throw it out the window, that's what the systemd devs did anyway.

Init is one part of systemd but it also does things like process management, application resource management, cgroup implementations, containerization, networking, device management, etc.

I personally call it a full management layer.

Are there any limitations to the because of it's ARM processor?

What Password Managers do you use and why?

Also a direct question to @hund

Looking for some advice here. I'm working on a budgeting app, designed to be shared among families/small groups of people, and I'd obviously like to make it secure. My first thought was to do some sort of key-based client-side encryption so that the server has no knowledge/insights into the data. It's all open source so anyone could run their own server but I planned on offering a hosted option for those who are less technical/not interested in self-hosting. Running out of room here so thread 👇

WTF?! My non-rooted phone had #Google Maps pre-installed, but I only use #OSMand for navigation etc.

Yesterday, I walked to a local restaurant, without using my phone, and had lunch there before walking back.

I never opened #GoogleMaps.

Today, I find a notification from Maps:
How was {restaurant name}?
Rate places to get smarter recommendations.

So it tracked and calculated where I ate without even opening my phone or the app.

Definitely time for #Pinephone / #LibreM

@hund Hey hund! Maybe you can help me. I am searching for a new keyboard. Right now I have a mechanical keyboard with Blue Cherry MX switches. I realised that they are too loud for my environment. I am looking for a silent alternative. Do you have any suggestions?

WhatsApp, which is owned by Facebook, just shut down the massive channel used by Spain's independent leftist political party Podemos.

And it did this just days before the general election
