@bookwyrm Hey! For me it seems like bookwyrm.social takes a while to load the page or is generally slow. Is that because of limited bandwidth?

@snikket_im
Hey! I was wondering if audio and video calls are also possible in groups?

@hund Hey Hund, since you are using XMPP I wanted to ask you if it is possible to do voice and videoconferences with XMPP. I saw that on one Android client there is the possibility on one-to-one voice call but haven't seen more. Can you help me answer my questions?

@HexDSL Hey! I saw that you have some experience with gaming on Linux. Do you know how I could play Outward in multiplayer? The problem I have is, that I have the GOG version and it is necessary to use the GOG Galaxy Client to play multiplayer.

Understanding systemd #1

Contrary to popular belief is not just an init system. Take everything you know about older init systems and throw it out the window, that's what the systemd devs did anyway.

Init is one part of systemd but it also does things like process management, application resource management, cgroup implementations, containerization, networking, device management, etc.

I personally call it a full management layer.

Are there any limitations to the because of it's ARM processor?

What Password Managers do you use and why?

Also a direct question to @hund

Looking for some advice here. I'm working on a budgeting app, designed to be shared among families/small groups of people, and I'd obviously like to make it secure. My first thought was to do some sort of key-based client-side encryption so that the server has no knowledge/insights into the data. It's all open source so anyone could run their own server but I planned on offering a hosted option for those who are less technical/not interested in self-hosting. Running out of room here so thread 👇

WTF?! My non-rooted phone had #Google Maps pre-installed, but I only use #OSMand for navigation etc.

Yesterday, I walked to a local restaurant, without using my phone, and had lunch there before walking back.

I never opened #GoogleMaps.

Today, I find a notification from Maps:
How was {restaurant name}?
Rate places to get smarter recommendations.

So it tracked and calculated where I ate without even opening my phone or the app.

Definitely time for #Pinephone / #LibreM
