I'm doing a Windows install in a VM to test some stuff, and it takes FOREVER. How do people put up with that?

@Linux_in_a_Bit i installed windows 10 on my laptop with a ssd and it was fast af tho. Ram also matters, but i also have sysctl tweaks

@Linux_in_a_Bit Fun fact, that is not even all of them. And some of them re-enables themselfs quietly after updates...

I use an app called "shut up 10" on my windows installations to actually disable all the things... But windows really is a privacy nightmare.

I hope UX designers who specialize in dark patterns like this gets to go to a special hell (designed by Kafka himself).

@Linux_in_a_Bit You need to click Learn More; some of them are hidden as tiny little links in all that wordiness… I thought I was being paranoid when I did that, but no.

Windows 10 is truly horrifying.

@wizzwizz4 Yeah, it's scary... I like Windows Ameliorated, but I'm not using that bc it's just a tiny short term project.

@Linux_in_a_Bit I would watch a video of trying (and failing) to make a Win 10 install private.
