Lots of people weren't around for when the fediverse was at its first peak at around 2010-2011. Google Plus swept in and plenty of people quit the fediverse saying "Google will do a better job keeping this running than independent sites can." For this and some other reasons, for some time the fediverse was a ghost town.

Let's not forget that next time.

Wow. Just checked my notifications on mastodon and counted them up. 47 so far today. I'm either very interesting or very wron about something. Lol!

DXVK 0.96 is out: check out the release log. Main change is less redundant Vulkan calls, some CPU overhead reduction in certain situations, and a new format for state cache (v2 to v3) to reduce Vulkan calls.

Okay. I like spectrwm bu can't figure out how to effectively use clamping. Does anyone understand it and able explain it

I was going to announce it a bit later and more properly, but Mastodon received a $70k grant from Samsung NEXT through OpenCollective. I intend to make it available to those who contribute to the project, and have already notified some of the most regular contributors. The way OpenCollective works is that anyone can submit an expense and all transactions are listed transparently. It also holds the money.

As for myself, I intend to continue using Patreon for my own wage/costs.

giving bspwm a go. Looks a lot like my i3 setup (not an accident)

Today I got a wonderful little card from a @Cheeseness :) (also everyone go play The Away Team)

The 2.7.0 #Mastodon update added a site directory feature. You can see it by adding "/explore" to your instance's address, for example:

It's opt-in, so it only lists people who have asked to be listed.

You can add yourself like this:

1. Go to Settings
2. Go to Edit Profile
3. Add hashtags to your profile bio, to let people know what kind of stuff you like to talk about
4. Tick the "List This Account on the directory" box
5. Click on "save changes"

Note that Dragon Ball Fighter Z has some very excellent 2D/3D style transitions like no other game around. Actually every character is 3D rendered with some pretty sophisticated shaders, and when a combo is unleashed the view changes and all the ligthing was made by hand to ensure shadows look OK during transitions. There's a great talk from the devs about that on youtube. #dragonballfighterz
